We’d like to share another incredibly powerful story from one of our INTEGRIS Health caregivers. Meet Bertina Richardson, a beacon of compassion and resilience. As a Referral Specialist, her role goes beyond administrative tasks; it's a calling deeply rooted in her personal experiences and unwavering dedication to supporting heart and hospice care.

Bertina's journey is one of profound support and overcoming loss, fueled by a passion to give back to the very programs that once offered solace to her family in their time of need. In this heartfelt video, Bertina shares the poignant moments that shaped her commitment to philanthropy and giving back.

In September 2009, Bertina's life took an unexpected turn when her husband suffered a massive heart attack, leading to quadruple bypass surgery. Witnessing his journey through ICU and recovery ignited her passion for cardiology not only professionally but also personally. With gratitude for the exceptional care her husband received, Bertina felt compelled to ensure others had access to similar lifesaving programs.

But Bertina's journey of support doesn't end there. In 2019, tragedy struck again when her son, Brandon, was diagnosed with leukemia. Despite the devastating news, Bertina and her family found solace in the support provided by INTEGRIS Health Hospice. As Brandon's condition worsened, they were surrounded by a network of care that eased their burden and brought moments of joy amidst the pain.
