Continuing a Legacy of Healing at the INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center

INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center Caregivers Utilizing PixaMed, a Breakthrough Burn and Wound Care Management System.

For nearly five decades, the INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center has stood at the forefront of burn care in Oklahoma and across the nation. Since 1975, the center has treated thousands of patients, combining innovation, compassion, and world-class expertise to help survivors recover from devastating injuries.

Thanks to your generous support, Dr. Paul Silverstein’s legacy continues—ensuring every burn patient receives not just exceptional medical care, but also the compassion, comfort, and tools they need to reclaim their lives.

Honoring 49 Years of Excellence in Burn Care

Named after longtime INTEGRIS Health physician and burn care pioneer Dr. Paul Silverstein, the burn center has grown into one of the largest adult burn centers in the United States. Your donations to the INTEGRIS Health Foundation help fund essential equipment, renovations, and programs that carry forward Dr. Silverstein’s vision for the future.

As we approach the Burn Center’s 50th Anniversary in 2025, your impact is more vital than ever.

“You don’t always know what procedures they are going to do that day, or how bad it will hurt, but I know having nitrous oxide available for our patients will help take their anxiety and fear levels down.”

Empowering Recovery with New Support Programs

One of the most exciting developments in 2024 is the launch of Oklahoma’s only support group for adult burn survivors. Thanks to your contributions, the center will now offer both online and in-person support through the Phoenix SOAR Program (Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery). This national program connects burn survivors and their families with trained peer supporters who offer insight, encouragement, and real-life experience.

Additionally, INTEGRIS Health caregivers are receiving Phoenix SOAR training to better assist patients beyond the hospital, providing emotional and social recovery resources that are just as important as physical healing.

Advanced Tools for Burn Assessment and Pain Relief

Your generosity is also helping bring cutting-edge technology to the burn center:

  • PixaMed: This digital wound mapping software helps caregivers precisely measure a patient’s burn area and depth—critical data that guides treatment decisions and helps track healing progress.

  • Nitrous Oxide Machines: Daily procedures like dressing changes and wound cleanings can be extremely painful. To reduce fear and anxiety, nitrous oxide machines (funded through the YOU&I internal campaign) now offer patients an additional pain management option. These machines are self-administered and safe, giving patients a sense of control during difficult moments.

Thank You for Advancing Burn Care in Oklahoma

Because of you, the INTEGRIS Health Paul Silverstein Burn Center continues to provide hope, healing, and expert care to burn survivors throughout the region. From lifesaving technologies to emotional support services, your contributions are transforming the way we treat—and care for—every patient.

Stay tuned in 2025 as we celebrate 50 years of legacy, innovation, and lives changed.
